A Sauk Rapids man was arrested after leading police on a chase with his 15-month-old daughter in the back seat. St. Cloud Police responded to a threats complaint just before 5:00 a.m. on Thursday in the 100 block of 20th Avenue North. A caller told police they were threatened by a man with a stick.

A popular Melrose pizza destination is coming to Sauk Rapids. John Dough's Pizza will be moving into the former Pizza Hut on 319 North Benton Drive. John Dough's has been operating in Melrose for nearly 10 years. Owner Leon Pierskalla says they hope to open in Sauk Rapids in the early summer.

Authorities responded to a house fire yesterday (Wed) at 2710 Orchid Drive Northeast in Sauk Rapids. The fire was called in at about 2:30 p.m. The garage was completely destroyed and the front half of the home has also been heavily damaged.

Sauk Rapids-Rice Student Knocked Out of State Spelling Bee

An eighth grade Sauk Rapids-Rice student has been eliminated from the Multi-State Regional Bee. Braden Martini, who won the Central Minnesota Regional Spelling Bee, lost in the first round of today's (Monday) contest held in Fergus Falls.
