Area superintendents want to reassure parents that their children are safe at school. This is the first day of classes since last Friday's deadly school shooting in Connecticut.
Today's classrooms are a lot more high tech than the old days of blackboards and calculators. Angie Kalthoff is the Technology Integrationist for the St. Cloud Area School District. She says a modern classroom is equipped with Smartboards, which are much more interactive.
The Sauk Rapids-Rice school district is expected to reduce its 2012 budget by about $760,000 dollars when the school board meets tonight. Superintendent Dan Bittman says the cuts are necessary because of a failed levy referendum.
