UPDATE: Minnesota Gay Marriage Supporters Rally at Capitol

Hundreds of gay marriage supporters packed Minnesota's Capitol rotunda as they start a push for its legalization by the Legislature. No official count of Thursday's crowd was immediately available but it appeared to easily exceed 1,000 people.

Panel Urges More Guards at Minnesota Capitol Complex

An advisory task force has forwarded proposed legislation to Minnesota lawmakers that would dramatically expand the Capitol complex security force. The recommendations adopted Monday seek an undetermined amount of funding to hire an emergency manager and nearly double the number of uniformed officers at the Capitol and 16 nearby buildings.

Dayton Orders State Capitol To Reopen Today

Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton is ordering the state Capitol and State Office Building to reopen to the public in advance of a special session to end the state's government shutdown. Dayton's order calls for the buildings to reopen at 9 a.m. today.

Abortion Opponents Fill Minnesota Capitol Grounds
