The Minnesota Historical Society plans to reopen its museums, historic sites and library to the public Saturday after the state government shutdown ends.

The Clean Water Land & Legacy Amendment has provided much-needed funding for historical preservation projects in Minnesota. Minnesota Historical Society spokesman David Grabitske says here in the St. Cloud area cities and organizations have benefited from the legacy amendment.

Want to marry a love for history and a high-tech tendency? There will soon be an app for that. The Minnesota Historical Society hopes to have an iPhone application by next April that puts destination details at a person's fingertips.
