Gray Ruled Out For Gophers Saturday
Gopher starting quarterback Marquis Gray has been ruled out by the Gophers for Saturday's game at home against Syracuse because of a high ankle sprain to his left ankle. Sophomore Max Shortell will get the start at quarterback with Gray out. Gopher head coach Jerry Kill says there isn't a quarterback controversy with Shortell and Gray and that freshman Philip Nelson will be the backup to Shortell this Saturday.

The University of Minnesota has extended the contract of head football coach Jerry Kill by 2 additional seasons. He signed a 5-year contract in December and now is signed through the 2017 season. Kill has battled seizures this season and has the Gophers off to a 1-6 start in his first year in Minnesota.

Gopher football coach Jerry Kill has returned to practice just 3 days after checking himself into the Mayo Clinic to seek treatment for his seizures. Kill told reporters after practice that Minnesota hired him to turn the program around and that he can't do that if he's not here.

Gopher football head coach Jerry Kill will be readmitted to the hospital today after suffering another seizure Sunday morning. Kill's assistant coaches say he's in good condition but will be admitted to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester for further testing.

The Gopher football team welcomed back head coach Jerry Kill Thursday. He was released from the hospital and attended practice Thursday. He had a seizure near the end of the game last week at home against New Mexico State. The Gophers host Miami-Ohio this Saturday at 2:30, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 1:30. Kill is expected to coach the team Saturday.

Gopher head football coach Jerry Kill is still hospitalized after suffering a seizure last Saturday near the end of the game against New Mexico State. He continues to recover and his assistant coaches still expect him to coach the team from the sidelines this Saturday when Minnesota hosts Miami-Ohio at 2:30, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 1:30.

Gopher football assistant coaches Matt Limegrover and Tracy Claeys both expect head coach Jerry Kill to coach the team from the sidelines this Saturday. Kill suffered a seizure near the end of the Gopher loss to New Mexico last Saturday. He has been recovering but did not attend the press conference yesterday.
Gophers’ Kill Improving
Gopher head football coach Jerry Kill is improving but remains hospitalized after suffering a seizure Saturday afternoon in the final seconds of the Gopher football game against New Mexico State. Gopher team physician Pat Smith says all tests have come back normal and no further testing will continue as necessary. Kill could be released from the hospital as early as today.
