With the excessive heat warning in affect until Friday, local health officials want you to take extra precautions while outdoors. Temperatures are expected in the 90s with high humidity and heat indices up to 110.
Widespread thunderstorms are possible tonight (Friday) as a warm front lifts into the area. Some of these storms could produce heavy rainfall and a few could be severe. The heat index will climb into the 96 to 100 degree range in some parts of the state.
