Girl Scouts Marks 100th Birthday with Party at MOA

The Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys is turning 100 - and it's hosting a weekend celebration at the Mall of America to mark the occasion. Events on Saturday will include a presentation by the Raptor Center, Zumba dancing and an Iron Cookie Challenge.

This Date In Central Minnesota History – March 12th, 1912

It was on this date 99 years ago that the girl scouts started. Now that first meeting was actually held down in Savannah, Georgia. But it didn't take too long before girls the in the St. Cloud area formed their own chapter of the Girl Scouts.

Some Girl Scouts To Sit Out Cookie Sale In Protest

Some Minnesota Girl Scouts say they will sit out an upcoming cookie sale to protest plans to sell off some of their camps. Financial pressures and declining membership have led the Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys council to sell four of its 12 camps.
