Stearns County Authorities Pursue Suspect

Stearns Count Sheriff's officers were involved in a vehicle pursuit early Friday morning. About 1am officers chased a car on County Road 51 in Collegeville Township. When the pursuit ended the driver, who had a felony warrant out for his arrest, fled on foot in the Saint John's University woods.

Two passengers were arrested on outstanding warrants.

Deputies tracked the driver through the woods towards I-94 and back towards County Road 51. The search was called off around 7am.

Later investigation lead to the drivers arrest at a house near Luxemburg. It was learned he had either flagged down a passing motorist or was allowed to use a phone to call for a ride.  Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's of at 251-4240.  The name of the suspect was not immediately released.
