ST. CLOUD -- Stearns County commissioners have approved a plan which will make repairs to roads, improve facilities and fix the trouble spots along the Lake Wobgeon Trail.

The Capital Improvement Plan is worth nearly $78-million.

Assistant County Administrator Steve Hammes says it's a project list which consists of one-time large pricetag fixes like new roofs, heating and cooling units, parking lot paving, refurbishing the Lake Wobegon Trail and other infrastructure upgrades.

The county will issue bonds for nearly $10-million to help pay for the projects. Other funds will come from the "wheelage tax" and federal and state funding mechanisms.
