UPDATE: State Patrol Identifies Person Killed in Kandiyohi County Crash

NEW LONDON -- One person is dead after a broadside crash in Kandiyohi County on Friday afternoon.

The incident happened at about 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 23 and Highway 9 near New London.

The state patrol says 72-year-old Judith Wachter of Ortonville was driving a 2002 Saturn and was heading East on Highway 9 when she pulled out into the south bound lanes of Highway 23 and was hit by an 18 wheeler heading south on Highway 23.

Wachter was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi, 55-year-old David Bauer of Clara City, wasn't hurt.
