SAUK RAPIDS - 36,000 thousand wings, dozens of competitors, and a room full of hungry wing fanatics filled the Benton County Fair Grounds for the 9th Annual Wing Fest on Saturday.

In a arena that quickly became standing room only, people lined up to taste the best Wing Fest had to offer. From normal buffalo sauce to the non-traditional blueberry habenero., there was something for everyone.

The winner of this years pro event was Dan Lunning and Cutting Edge Catering by Nelson Bros. He says it feels good to beat so many different great competitors.

"Its great, anytime you come into a awesome event like this you always want to do your best and perform and strive for that first place trophy. We're fortunate enough to get it this year, but there was a lot of great competition out there with a lot of great wings."

Admission was free courtesy of Brandl Family of Dealerships. Wing Fest ran from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Sports Arena East at the Benton County Fair Grounds.

Henry's Catering and Events Center cooked all the wings for the event.
