ST. PAUL, (AP) - A St. Paul woman has been sentenced to four years in prison for running over her boyfriend with her car and killing him.

Fifty-four-year-old Arlene Priscilla Garcia pleaded guilty in March to criminal vehicular homicide. She asked the judge for probation Thursday so she could get alcoholism treatment, which her attorney said she had never had.

Ramsey County District Judge Leonardo Castro agreed that Garcia needs help. But he pointed out that she gave inconsistent statements to police after the collision and did not stop to help.

Garcia was drunk Jan. 30 when she ran over her boyfriend, 50-year-old Mark Urang, and drove off. Urang bled to death.

The judge ordered Garcia to pay Urang's family $2,630 in restitution for funeral expenses.
