ST.  CLOUD - The tight knit pool and dart communities are gathered at the River's Edge Convention Center.

The competitors are in town for the Midwest Coin Concepts 27th Annual Pool and Dart Tournament.

Midwest Coin Concepts co-owner Terry O'Hara says its a competition for everyone.

"Anyone from professionals to people who just picked up a pool cue for the first time."

Even though the event is a competition, People like Elmer Pfaff say many of the competitors would like to win but they really play to be a part of the pool and dart community.

"I come here with my wife. Pool is something we do together."

Elmer's story is just one of many where family's use pool and darts to spend time with one another. Whether its a mom and daughter on their weekly pool date, or father and son playing darts on a Sunday afternoon, pool and darts are about more than just winning.

The event started on Thursday and will run through Sunday. Spectators are welcome and the event is free to get in to.
