ST. CLOUD - The St. Cloud police department responded to more calls in 2013 than the year before.

Police Chief Blair Anderson says they had 53,954 calls for service last year, just over 800 more than in 2012.

He says the good news is the robbery calls fell by 20, and the sexual assault calls dropped by 26.

However, Anderson says he is concerned the suicide calls rose to 508 last year.

The two most common types of calls for service for the St. Cloud police department are traffic stops and welfare checks.
