ST. CLOUD - A St. Cloud man is facing a number of charges after alleged driving drunk. St. Cloud police say they were sent to the 1300 block of 2nd Street Northeast at about 6:20 p.m. last (Monday) night.

The suspect had reportedly left the area and nearly struck three pedestrians with his car. The suspect then drove his vehicle back into the parking lot, refused to stop, and drove into his garage stall. Officers blocked the vehicle in the stall with a squad car. The driver refused to comply with officer's directions to exit the car.

He's been identified as 44-year-old Michael Hess. Hess put his vehicle into reverse and rammed a squad car at least twice. They eventually used a taser on Hess and arrested him. No officers were hurt in the altercation, Hess had minor injuries.

He was first taken to St. Cloud Hospital, then the Benton County Jail. He's facing charges of 1st Degree DWI refusal, 2nd Degree Assault, Terroristic Threats, and Reckless Driving.
