St. Cloud Man Hospitalized After Group Assault

ST. CLOUD -- A St. Cloud man was hospitalized after being assaulted by a group of three to five people early Saturday morning.

Lieutenant Jeff Oxton says police were sent to St. Cloud hospital in reference to an assault in the area of 7th Street South and 8th Avenue shortly before 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

Police determined a hospitalized 21-year-old St. Cloud man was assaulted by several unknown assailants while he was walking home with a pizza.

The man says a group of people approached him asking about the pizza before three to five of them started to punch him and attempted to take his headphones.

The man received moderate but not life-threatening injuries from the attack.

The only description given was that one of the suspects is a Hispanic man in his 20s with a thin mustache.
