St. Cloud Man Arrested After Alleged Gun Threats, Hiding In Stranger’s Apartment

ST. CLOUD - A St. Cloud man has been arrested after he allegedly threatened a teenage girl with a gun, then ran from police.

St. Cloud police say it all started at about 2:00 p.m. on Saturday in the 1000 block of 9th Avenue South.

A 17-year-old girl says she was verbally threatened by a man claiming to have two guns. Officers found the suspect in the area of South Side Park, and identified him as 20-year-old Tyre Neal. During a pat down search, Neal ran from the officers across 13th and 14th Streets.

Police say Neal ran into an apartment in the 1400 block of 9th Avenue South where a family with four young kids were inside. He was not know to anyone who lived there. Officers got family members out of the apartment, and then got Neal to surrender.

Police went back along the route that Neal had ran, and they found two loaded handguns thrown in some bushes.
