St. Cloud Man Arrest of Allegedly Driving Drunk, Causing Crash
ST. CLOUD -- A St. Cloud man was hurt after a two car crash.
The incident happened just before 2:00 p.m. yesterday (Monday) at the intersection of Centennial Drive and 19th Avenue North in St. Cloud.
Sergeant Jason Burke says 39-year-old Martin Hanson was driving east on Centennial Drive, when he swerved to miss another vehicle, struck a parked car, and hit the first vehicle.
20-year-old Jonathan Hicks, of St. Cloud, was pulling out of his driveway when he was hit by Hanson, lost control, went off the road and hit a utility pole.
Hanson continued into the parking lot of Centennial Park, hitting a parking pylon, and spun out into the ball field. He then left the scene on foot and was later found at Coborns on 8th Street North where he was taken into custody.
Hicks' passenger, 18-year-old Chasidan Mead, was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Hanson is facing DUI charges.
