St. Cloud Fire Department Respond to Sick Man on Sportsmans Island

ST.  CLOUD - The St. Cloud Fire Department was called in to rescue a man on Sportsman's Island in the Mississippi River last (Thursday) night.

The man had become sick while camping on the island.

Battalion Chief Leon Faust says the call came in at about 9:45 p.m., and the search lasted for about two hours.  Faust says it was challenging due to the fast moving water.

The man was taken to St. Cloud Hospital. He is expected to be okay.
