ST. CLOUD -- A recent survey conducted by the American Red Cross shows that the use of social media has positively effected the number of charitable givings this holiday season.

Carrie Carlson-Guest of the American Red Cross says that the survey was done on a national level by the organization.

Carlson-Guest says that the survey shows that it's the messenger, not the medium, that has the biggest impact on potential givers.

The survey brought about some interesting and encouraging statistics.

Carlson-Guest says that this information shows that people really do believe that it is better to give than receive.

Carlson-Guests says that there is still time for you to get involved.
