Slushy Roads Blamed for Head-On Crash on Highway 23

PAYNVESVILLE - Just minor injuries in a head-on collision on Highway 23 in Kandiyohi County near Paynesville. The State Patrol says the incident happened just after 7:30 p.m. last (Tuesday) night.

A car driven by 59-year-old Lidia Newville of Willmar was heading west when she hit a patch of slush and collided head-on with a semi. The truck was driven by 43-year-old Thomas Wochnick of Avon.

Newville and her passenger, 18-year-old Ashley Alfaro of Bloomington, both have non life-threatening injuries. Wochnick was not hurt.
