Sleepy Driver Allegedly Causes Crash

ST. CLOUD - St. Cloud Police say A man who fell asleep at the wheel caused a crash.

The incident happened at about 5:00 p.m. yesterday (Sunday) on the Granite City Crossing bridge.

Nineteen-year-old Steven Treptau fell asleep causing his vehicle to accelerate into the vehicle in front of him.  The driver of that vehicle, 39-year-old Stefan Schaub of Becker, was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Treptau was given a ticket for inattentive driving, and also arrested on an outstanding warrant.
