Sheriff: Bad Blinker Partly to Blame for Meeker County Crash

LITCHFIELD - A malfunctioning blinker is at least partially to blame for a two vehicle crash.

The Meeker County Sheriff's Office says a semi driven by 47-year-old Loren Rolfzen of Annandale was heading south on County Road 1 when he slowed to turn into a driveway. A Jeep driven by 53-year-old Richard Anderson of Litchfield began to pass on the left, and the two vehicles collided. A passenger in the Jeep, 53-year-old Donna Anderson of Litchfield, was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The State Patrol says the semi had several equipment violations, including a rear turn signal.

The crash happened at about 9:30 a.m. yesterday (Thursday) in Greenleaf Township near Litchfield.
