ST. CLOUD -- A St. Cloud man has been sentenced in a drug deal robbery and shooting last summer.

A Stearns County judge sentenced 19-year-old Tyree Sharp to just over 14 years in prison after Sharp entered guilty pleas in the case. He pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting first degree aggravated robbery, aiding and abetting first degree attempted murder, a theft charge and three counts of terroristic threats against jail staff.

Sharp was one of three men who were accused of setting up a deal to buy marijuana then robbing the two men of their money and belongings in July 2014.

Sharp and Cornelius Payton entered the vehicle to buy the drugs when Payton pulled out a handgun. Sharp allegedly began taking belongings from an adult passenger in the vehicle. During the robbery attempt, the driver tried to drive away. Payton fired two shots, hitting the victim in the shoulder and neck. The complaint states Sharp and Payton ran back to a get away vehicle and fled the scene.

Payton and the getaway driver, Damian Wieneke, have already been sentenced for their roles.
