SAUK RAPIDS - It's looking more and more likely that Dan Severson of Sauk Rapids will be the Republican party's main hope for unseating Senator Amy Klobuchar this fall.

The party has been searching for a bigger name -- like former Governor Tim Pawlenty -- to step-up to the challenge, but that hasn't happened.  And College of St. Benedict and St. John's University Professor Kay Wohlsborn says time is running out.

Severson was elected to the State House four times.  He also ran unsuccessfully for Secretary of State in 2010.

Klobuchar is serving her first time in the U.S. Senate.
