Section 5A Boys Hockey Quarterfinal Matchups

#8 Proctor (7-18-1) @ #1 Hermantown (20-4-1)

Previous Meeting: Proctor hosted Hermantown on January 24th in a game the Hawks won 11-0. The Hawks' Nate Pionk had a hat trick to lead seven Hermantown skaters with multiple points.

#5 Legacy Christian Academy (19-5-2) @ #4 Rogers (11-12-2)

The two teams did not meet in the regular season. Rogers went 3-2 in their last five regular season games. Legacy Christian was 4-1 in their last five games, including three straight wins to close the season in which they outscored opponents 21-1.

#6 Sauk Rapids-Rice (9-15-1) @ #3 Princeton (19-5-1)

Previous Meeting: Princeton won 8-3 on February 9th at Princeton Ice Arena in a penalty-filled game. Collin Buness had two goals and three assists for the Tigers and Dan Muench added three goals and two assists. Mathew Meyer, Tyler Long and James Geisler scored goals for the Storm.

#7 Mora/Hinckley-Finlayson (13-11) @ #2 Cathedral (18-7)

Previous Meeting: The Crusaders topped the Mustangs 11-4 on December 18th in Mora. Cathedral overwhelmed Mora in the first period by taking a 4-0 lead while outshooting the Mustangs 19-1. Final shots on goal were 51-19. Junior Austin Poganski had a six point game with four goals and two assists, and Tommy Hall had two goals and four assists. Troy Jones had a pair of goals for the Mustangs in the loss.
