ST. CLOUD - The St. Cloud State University annual fall statewide survey breaks down the re-election of Governor Mark Dayton and U.S. Senator Al Franken.

The survey of 552 Minnesota adults was taken prior to the election, between October 13th and 22nd.

It indicates 53 percent of the respondents see the state as headed in the right direction, as opposed to 28 percent who see it on the wrong track. These results show Minnesotans are significantly more optimistic than Americans as a whole about the state of the country.

Fifty-one percent rated Dayton's job performance as excellent or pretty good, while 50 percent rated Franken's performance as excellent or pretty good.

The SCSU survey will soon release additional results on Minnesota views on immigration-related issues, climate change, and marijuana laws.
