Sauk Rapids Woman Hurt After Bicycle Accident

AVON -- A Sauk Rapids woman is hurt after falling off her bicycle in Avon Township.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Department says 44-year-old Cheri Bates of Sauk Rapids fell off her bike Saturday, causing minor injuries.

The accident happened about two miles west of Avon on the Lake Wobegon Trail near Peach Drive.

The report says Bates was wearing a helmet -- which took the brunt of the impact -- and she was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
