Sartell Police Department Adds in New Officer to the Force [AUDIO]

SARTELL — The Sartell Police Department has added a new member to the force.

During last nights (Monday) city council meeting Nic Smith was officially sworn in as part of the department.

Smith has been a police officer for about seven years. He says he is excited to serve the Sartell community.

Smith has worked for the Renville, Bird Island and Dawson police departments over his career.

Smith will replace the officer that left in December.

Sartell Police Chief Jim Hughes says he will begin interviews at the end of the month to find a replacement for Joe Schmitz, who passed away in March.
