Sartell Man Arrested After Fleeing Probation Officer

SARTELL -- A Sartell man who was wanted on a probation violation is back in jail today.

The Minnesota Department of Corrections asked the Sartell Police Department for help in arresting 30-year-old Ian Allery.

Allery was found at an apartment complex in the 1200 block of 15th Street South in Sartell at 9:30 a.m. Police say Allery ran from his probation officer and hid in a swamp behind the complex.

The Waite Park Police Department and a Stearns County Sheriff's police dog were called in to help with the search.

Allery was found hiding in the swamp just before 11:00 a.m. During the arrest, Allery allegedly threatened to kill the family of one of the arresting officers.
