SARTELL -- Even with the snow on the ground Sartell officials are already focusing the next phase of road improvements.

Last year Sartell completed phase one of the Pinecone Road projects, which included building three roundabouts.

City Engineer Mike Nielson says with the school district finishing their site plan for the proposed high school, they can finish designs on the other phases of the project.

“The other phases we are looking at is the section from 7th street north to 15th street north, from 15th street north to 35th street north and that project would include 27th street north from pinecone road to riverside avenue,” says Nielson.

Along with the road project designs, Nielson says a traffic signal will be constructed this year at the intersection of County Road 78 and County Road 133 for the Kwik Trip scheduled to be built in the area.

Nielson says the city doesn’t have a schedule for the improvements on Pinecone Road finalized yet. They will be working toward a final plan and determine a construction schedule that fits with available funding.
