SARTELL -- Sartell officials are considering to acquire some land near the Sauk River Regional Park.

The city is looking at purchasing roughly 5 acres adjacent to the current park boundary at County Road 136 and County Road 120.

City Administrator Mary Degiovanni says the city has additional state funds available which would go to the purchase of the land.

The funding would come from both Legacy funds (about $465,000) and state bond funds (about $500,000).

Degiovanni says the city council is still in negotiations for the property.

Once a final sale price is decided it would need to be brought to the city council for final approval.
