The St. Cloud Rox will introduce former Twin Al Newman at a press conference at 6:30pm at the House of Pizza in Sartell tonight (Monday).  The event will include a meet and greet.

Newman, a former first round draft pick of the Montreal Expos out of San Diego State University, played eight seasons in the major leagues including five with the Minnesota Twins. During his time with the Twins he primarily played the infield and was a member of the 1987 and 1991 World Series teams.

Newman coached the Alexandria Blue Anchors for three seasons from 2013 to 2015 until the franchise folded after the 2015 season.

Newman also has experience managing with the Class AA New Britain Rock Cats in 1996 and 1997. He was the Twins' third base coach from 2002-2005.

He will join manager Augie Rodriguez's staff in 2016. Rodriguez has managed the Rox since their inception in 2012.
