Funeral Service will be at 1 pm, Monday, August 8, 2016 at First Baptist Church, Long Prairie for Rose M. Kuehne, age 89, of Alexandria, formerly of Long Prairie, who passed away Wednesday at the Bethany Community in Alexandria. Rev. Matt Stacey will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Long Prairie. Family and friends may call one hour before services at the church on Monday. Arrangements entrusted to Williams Dingmann Funeral Home – Stein Chapel, Long Prairie.

Rose was born to Christ and Carolina Schumacher on December 14, 1926, at Wolf Point, Montana. She lived in Montana until September 1946 when she moved to St. Paul, Minnesota to attend Bible College. She was united in marriage to Herbert Kuehne on August 29, 1948 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Long Prairie Township. They owned and operated a dairy farm near Burtrum until August 1979 and then moved to Long Prairie. Two years ago Rose moved to Alexandria to live with a new community of friends at Nelson Gables.

Rose was a member of the First Baptist Church and served as Deaconess many years. She also served on the Missions Committee, Women's Mission Aid, and taught Sunday School for over 30 years. She volunteered for the Food Pantry for over 25 years, and enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing and spending time with family.

Rose is survived by her brother Len of San Diego, CA; her children, Bonnie (Dave) Langfield of Long Prairie, MN, Paul (Hope) Kuehne of Edgewood, NM, Ardyce (Thom) Harris of Alexandria, MN, and Sherrie (David) McIver of Blaine, MN. Rose loved her 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband Herbert in 2007, her daughter Denise, her parents, four brothers, Don, Fred, John and Leo, also sisters, Esther and Lydia.

Serving as casket bearers are grandsons, Jason and Nathan Langfield, Ryan Harris, Jordan and Kyle McIver. Honorary casket bearers include, Tracy Winkler, April Nolz, Heidi Anderson, Kendra Thomas, Keisha Harris, Justin Kuehne, Kelsi Poster, Darren Kuehne, and Tyler McIver.
