Ronnie L. Holmes, 61, Princeton

Ronnie Leon Holmes, age 61, of Princeton, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2014.

Ronnie was born April 4, 1953 in Clearwater, FL the son of Alice (Stephens) and Bernie Holmes. He grew up in Putnam Valley, NY and graduated from Lakeland High School. He then attended State University of New York Junior College at Cobleskill for Ag Engineering, Diesel. At college Ronnie met the love of his life, Dorothy Free and the two were united in marriage on June 8, 1974 in Troy, NY. Ronnie worked for International Harvester and was their first black service representative. Ronnie was a loyal member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Princeton where he loved being moderator and was a mentor to several Confirmands. In his spare time Ronnie enjoyed photography, bird watching and working on cars. He was a loving father, husband and friend and will be dearly missed.

Ronnie is survived by his wife Dorothy; son David (Anne); daughter Rea; sister-in-law Judy Free and special friends Cheryl and Gary Joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law Norman Free.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 2:00 PM with visitation one hour prior to the service at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Princeton.
