Ronald L. Slater, 76

Ronald L. Slater, age 76, died Thursday, January 26, 2017 following a lengthy battle with prostate cancer. He was born on April 28, 1940 to Donald R. Slater Sr. and Marion L. Slater in Mapleton, MN.

Ron retired from Onan Cummings in 2002. He was a former member of the Fridley Lions where he occasionally dressed up and acted as a clown for certain events. He enjoyed fishing, golf and visiting with friends.

Ron is survived by his daughter Pam Lowry & husband Dennis of Princeton; brother James Slater, sister and brother-in-law Janice & Stan Latourelle all of Mapleton; special neighbor Julie Anderson; along with nieces, nephews and other friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Donald R. Slater Jr.; and nephew Anthony Slater.

No services are scheduled at this time. A private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be directed to the donor’s choice.
