Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Princeton, MN, for Roger C. Nelson, age 68, who passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017, at his home in Princeton, MN. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1 and one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home in Princeton.

Roger was born February 21, 1949, in Princeton, MN, to Carl and Betty (Foss) Nelson where he lived his life in Greenbush Township. He graduated from Princeton Schools in 1969 where he was drafted into the armed services (Army) in direct support of the Vietnam War Campaign. Roger left the service in 1971 where he then met his wife Karen (Kutter) Nelson and was married to Karen on July 29, 1972, in Brooklyn Park, MN. Roger worked as a self-employed construction worker in his personally owned business R.C. Masonry and Remodeling Construction. He also previously worked for various other construction companies locally prior to solidifying his own business. Roger enjoyed hunting, watching auto races, and upon retiring became a self-proclaimed professional buyer as he went from auction to auction in search of deals. He was a hardworking, generous family man who loved his wife, sons, grandchildren, and the family dog Sammy.

Roger is survived by his wife, Karen of Princeton; sons, Nathan Nelson of Minneapolis, MN, Cameron Nelson of Saint Paul, MN, and Jared Nelson of Princeton, MN; grandchildren, Cearia Kay (19), Jayden Syler (9), Adellita Miray (8), Mija Sophia (5); sister and brother, Karen (Rich) Sweeden of Milaca, MN, and Scott (Sue) Nelson of Milaca, MN; uncle and aunt Warren (Marlene) Foss and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and mother-in-law.

Pallbearers are Jerry Nelson, Greg Peterson, Donald Koskey, Joe Nelson, Mike Ternes, Scott Nelson, Don Thomas, and Jeff Hulett. Honorary Pallbearers are the grandchildren.
