ROCHESTER (AP) - A 26-year-old Rochester woman accused of using her crutches in a domestic assault has been sentenced to more than two years in prison.

Reports say Kathlyn Kara Beaugard has been sentenced in Olmsted County to 26 months in prison, with credit for 58 days served.

Beaugard had pleaded guilty Aug. 5 to felony fifth-degree assault.

According to the police report, Beaugard and a 30-year-old male were arguing when she allegedly swung her aluminum crutches at him, breaking a bone in his hand.

A review of Beaugard's criminal history reflects multiple convictions for assault, including one in 2013, two in 2009 and one in 2007.
