Robert Leroy Stip, 78, St. Cloud

Robert Leroy Stip, age 78, St. Cloud, MN, died Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Atonement Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.

Robert was born November 9, 1936 in Madison, SD to Gerrit and Ann (Rosenboom) Stip. He served in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne, from 1954 to 1956. Robert married Carol E. Lehmeier on April 8, 1958 at St. Mary’s Cathedral, St. Cloud, MN. He was employed by the paper mill in Sartell for 40 years. After his retirement Robert was employed by Miller Auto for 13 years and Prairie Potato Co. of Rice, MN. Robert and Carol wintered in Lake Havasu, AZ. Robert was a member of Waite Park American Legion Post #428, St. Cloud Granite City Radio Control Flyers Club; and Desert Hawks Remote Radio Control Flying Club of Lake Havasu, AZ. He enjoyed remote control planes, golfing, cards, traveling and trips to the casino.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Stip of St. Cloud, MN; sons and daughters, Dianne (Mark) Lindblom of St. Cloud, MN; Ronald Stip of St. Cloud, MN; Judy (Peter) Maus of St. Cloud, MN; Larry Stip of St. Cloud, MN; sister, Dorothy Gregory of St. Cloud, MN; eleven grandchildren, Jessie (Aron) Erickson, Jason Kron, Taren, Rhainnon and Brandon Stip, Robert, Becca, Jackie, Paige and Steve Maus, and Kasandra Stip; and three great grandchildren, Keelen, Brody and Braden Stip.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter, Sandra Stip

Memorials are preferred.
