ST. CLOUD - The new River's Edge Convention is making it's debut in downtown St. Cloud.

The facility formerly known as the Civic Center is now twice as big.  The expansion cost $22 million with the money coming from the existing Food and Beverage tax.

City officials are still planning more improvements, they will ask the State Legislature for $10.1 million this spring to help build an adjoining parking ramp, and for upgrades to the facility along the river front.

A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. today (Thursday).
