River’s Edge is Done, Sort Of [AUDIO]

Bob Hughes

ST. CLOUD – A ribbon cutting ceremony was held last (Thursday) night for the new River’s Edge Convention Center.

However, that doesn’t mean the facility is done.  Local leaders will ask the state legislature for an additional $10.1 million in bonding money this spring to build a connecting parking ramp, for amenities along the riverfront.

State Representative Steve Gottwalt of St. Cloud says he supports the funding, but it will face challenges from his colleagues.

Gottwalt says he’s expecting this year’s bonding bill to be under $1 billion dollars.

This year’s state legislative session begins on Tuesday, January 24th.
