MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) - A former professor at Minnesota State University Moorhead has filed a lawsuit alleging she was discriminating against when applying for a new position at the school.

Sixty-three-year-old Claudia Murphy claims in her lawsuit that despite her qualifications, the university failed to hire her for a new job in the women and gender studies program because of her age and her complaints about the school's hiring practices.

The university in response, says it has high standards for faculty, staff and administrators and its hiring practices reflect that.
