Princeton Man Arrested After Allegedly Pointing Rifle At His Wife

BALDWIN TOWNSHIP - A Princeton man was arrested shortly before 4:30 p.m. this (Friday) afternoon at his home on the 31600 block of 127th Street in Baldwin Township.

Sherburne County Sherrif Joel Brott says 62-year-old Allen Hugget allegedly pointed a rifle at his wife and threatened to hurt himself in his home. His wife left the house and called police.

Deputies evacuated neighboring homes and stopped school bus routes in the area. Tactical teams were sent from the Sherburne County Sheriff's Office and the Elk River Police Department to try to negotiate with Hugget.

Hugget eventually did negotiate with police and was taken to Sherburne County Jail where he is pending assault charges.
