WAITE PARK - Two people from California are in jail, facing a number of charges, after being arrested by Waite Park police on Sunday afternoon.

Police received a call just before 12:30 p.m. that a man was trying to sell a stolen handgun, and that a woman was in a stolen car, at 815 1st Street South. Officers found the stolen vehicle in the area of 6th Avenue and 2nd Street South.

The man has been identified as 34-year-old Jeffrey Palmer of Paradise, California. He was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm, and an outstanding narcotics warrant.

The woman has been identified as 34-year-old Chrisanna Gustafson of Chico, California. She's facing charges for auto theft, credit card fraud, and a felony warrant.

The vehicle was stolen from St. Cloud. Police say the two were in possession of stolen id cards, bank cards, and car key fobs from multiple states from California to Minnesota. Besides several handguns, officers also recovered a significant amount of merchandise that's believed to have been bought with stolen credit cards.
