Police Cleared in Shooting Man Who Drove at Them at MSP
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport official says three officers have been cleared in the shooting of a man accused of trying to run them down with a car last month.
Airport spokesman Patrick Hogan says an internal review and another investigation by the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office found the officers' actions were justified.
Authorities say 36-year-old Mohamud Mohammed Maye drove his car at the three officers in an airport parking ramp on April 25, injuring two and narrowly missing the third. A criminal complaint says police fired at the car, and Maye crashed and was arrested.
An attorney for Maye says he's in custody at a hospital with head and brain injuries. He has been charged with three counts of assault.
