ST. CLOUD -- Police have arrested a man who set fire to an apartment in south St. Cloud on Saturday morning.
The St. Cloud Police Department says the incident happened shortly before 6:00 a.m. in the 800 block of 13th Street South.
Twenty-five-year-old Almiqdam Abdullatif Aldhuwayhi of St. Cloud entered a 21-year-old woman's second floor apartment without permission, set fire in a bedroom, and fled the scene.
The victim was asleep in another room at the time and was not hurt. Police say she has a Domestic Abuse No Contact Order against Aldhuwayhi, preventing him from having contact with her.
Officers later found Aldhuwayhi intoxicated and asleep in his car and arrested him on several charges including 1st degree burglary and 1st degree arson.
Tenants of the building were evacuated in the incident and nobody was hurt. The fire was contained to a single apartment and investigators estimate the total damage at $30,000.
