Planned Waite Park Hotel Development to Include Convention Center

Waite Park City Administrator Shaunna Johnson says the Silver Leaf Development Group was originally going to have a 7,000 square foot conference space in the first of the two hotels. Now they're looking to build a 27,000 square foot convention center that could accommodate up to 800 people.

Fifth-Grader Arrested for Making Elementary School Threat in Rush City

A fifth-grader has been charged with disorderly conduct following his arrest in connection with a threat at an elementary school in Chisago County. Extra Patrols to Enforce DWI Law this Weekend

Minnesota troopers say more people are arrested for driving drunk on Super Bowl weekend than the subsequent and prior weekends. The state Department of Public Safety says on Super Bowl game day through Monday, an average of 190 drivers will be arrested for drunken driving and at least one person will die.
