MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A Minneapolis man has been charged with fatally stabbing another man last week.

Nineteen-year-old Robinson Fabricio Palacios-Castro was charged Monday in Hennepin County court with second-degree murder in the death of 29-year-old Elias Lopez-Lopez of Minneapolis.

According to the complaint, police were called Wednesday night about a man armed with a knife fighting someone else. When officers arrived, they found Lopez-Lopez had been stabbed multiple times and was lying on the steps of an apartment building in south Minneapolis.

The victim later died at a hospital from the stab wounds, one of which hit his heart. Police say the suspect was arrested without incident after officers canvassed the neighborhood.

Palacios-Castro remains in the Hennepin County Jail and makes his first court appearance Tuesday. Prosecutors are requesting bail of $1 million.
