WAITE PARK - A new thrift store has opened its doors with a special purpose - to support those receiving end-of-life care.

Healing Journeys Thrift Store is selling gently used clothing, toys, books and smaller furniture, with all profits to benefit Quiet Oaks Hospice House.

Sandi Meyer is the store's manager and a former hospice nurse. She says the process of opening the store and collecting and organizing donations has been a nice change of pace for her.

Meyer says hospice care is a valuable service that touches lives and allows loved ones to get the most out of their time together.

While donations have been collected for several months, Healing Journeys opened on January 5th. The shopfront is located next to the Minnesota School of Business.

They're open Tuesday through Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m each day.
