"We did do our site excavation and did put the water and sewer lines in last fall but we pulled off for winter construction and felt that it would be in our best interest to put it off and hit it hard this spring," says Von Wald.

The church owns 28 acres of land west of the high school where the new church will be built.

Von Wald says they have put a lot of thought into the buildings designs to provide the congregation with many amenities.

"We are looking at a state of the art sanctuary area, we are in the process of purchasing our theatrical style of seating. The rest of the building with have space for our christian education and Sunday school classes along with a fellowship space for other activities," says Von Wald.

The 16,000 square foot building will sit on 10 of the 28 acres and take about four to six months to build.

Von Wald says they are looking at other possibilities for the remaining acreage.

"We are in some discussion about doing a prayer trail or garden type of thing so there are a number of options for the rest of the property," says Von Wald.

New Life Church has been operating out of Foley High School since 2006. Von Wald says they hope to officially begin construction on May 1st.
